Joan "Stasik" Skinner
After graduating from Fennville High School in 1952, 
I went to work at the bank in town. Worked there for 4 years.

Married Dale Skinner in 1955, bought a 40 acre farm in 1956 and planted it to fruit. Dale farmed until 1969 when he decided to leave the farm and went out to work.

During that time we had 5 children (3 boys and 2 daughters). Three (2 sons and 1 daughter) live in the Fennville area, 1 son lives in California and the youngest daughter lives in Alabama. Have 10 grandchildren (8 grandsons and 2 granddaughters). Eldest grandson will be married in August.
Started working part-time in the Superintendent's office and then became elementary secretary for 3-1/2 years. From there went into the high school and was secretary for eons.

Retired in January of 1997.

Dale and I started a greenhouse in 1984, which became my summer job. Our oldest daughter was our partner and while Dale and I worked she ran the business. Closed it at the end of the season of 1997 because we planned to do some traveling.

Dale passed away in October of 1998 of cancer. I still live on our farm on 63rd. Street and our eldest son is now farming it plus his farm.
