John "Jack" C. Turner

After graduating from Fennville High School in 1952,
l joined the U.S. Army and served from April 1953 until April 1955. Some of that time was spent in Germany with the opportunity to travel while on the baseball and football teams.

Upon returning home I worked at Heinz for six months then I went to work for General Electric in Holland.

Early in 1957 a pretty little gal from Burnips started the day shift at GE. To make a long story short, Eileen (Loew) and I were married on November 1,1957.

We have two sons, Tony and Craig. They are married and have given us five grand kids.

Tony graduated from Hope College, lives in West Bend, WI and works for Northwestern Mutual in Milwaukee. Craig graduated from Lake Superior State College, lives in Houston, TX and works for Boeing.

I spent 34 years at GE and retired January 30, 1990. After retiring, we spent seven winters in Destin, FL. Lately we have enjoyed the mild Michigan winters. I enjoy walking several miles a day, reading all kinds of WWII books and going online to increase my knowledge.

We are members of Burnips Wesleyan Church and take an active part there.
