After graduating from Fennville High School in 1952, I attended Davenport Institute, became an Executive Secretary ~ 1953 I married Chuck Starring ~ 1954 we had the first of 3 children: Roger, Sam and Steve ~ now have three precious granddaughters. ~ We lived all our married life (43-1/2 yrs.) in the huge 100-yr. old Lamoreaux house in the big city of Fennville. Remodeling did wonders for the house. ~ The genealogy bug bit me in 1957 and I have been at it for all these years (and still love it). This love led me to try and improve many of the research tools that genealogists use and consequently led to authoring of 4 copy-written books which are on the shelves of most major libraries in the U.S. |
| ~ Genealogy also introduced me to traveling
and I sure have done a lot of that. I'm still actively doing family history
work and traveling.
~ In 1972 I started working for the new doctor in town and was secretary, almost- nurse and girl Friday. Later secretary was enough to keep me busy. This career lasted 23 years and I retired in 1995. ~ Chuck became ill in 1996 and passed away in Jan. 1997. After two years alone, I found a smaller house just outside the city where I reside today. I am most content at this point in my life and wish it would never end. |
