Acknowledgments

Many thanks are due to those who helped.

We had much help in putting these pages together, help from geographically widely separated locations.  My daughters Jane and Beth, Kurt’s sisters, refreshed my memory whenever I suffered a “senior moment.”  Beth, the professional editor in New Jersey, did the editing of my writing.  Carol Berry in that tropical paradise, St. Thomas, USVI, was a sharp-eyed online proofreader.  Kurt’s fellow “faculty brat” and college classmate-almost, Brent Templeton, translated Kurt’s tapes to “mp3” format and burned the results into a well-annotated CD ROM.  Gail Templeton contributed helpful constructive criticism of the work in progress.

A special thanks to my Webmaster, Vern Bouwman,
who is “way out west” in the  Seattle area.

.............
I remember Vern when he was a 8th grade student in my General Science class in 1948-49 and he looked like this:
It’s not easy to communicate one’s ideas by e-mails and have them interpreted as well as they are by Vern.  Only once did he say that he couldn’t read my mind.

...............
I took this picture of him in October 2000 when he was working on my other “book” the history of my WW2 Outfit, which is also on the Web at http://475thmpeg.memorieshop.com/

.....
I acknowledge my responsibility for a few of his gray hairs.  Now I dare him to include this portion of this page.
